For the recovery and improvement of certain problems in MS, seeing a rehabilitation doctor can be a solution. With a personal treatment plan and a multidisciplinary team, one can specialize therapies and work on predefined goals.
Rehabilitation at Medifit Reha focuses on restoring or improving the abilities of people affected by MS, both in the early and advanced stages of the disease. Unfortunately, no medicine exists yet that cures MS. However, it is possible to significantly reduce symptoms with a combination of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation programme and medication. This improves the quality of your life.
After the intake, the rehabilitation specialist will prepare a personal treatment plan. The goal of rehabilitation is to help people with MS to function as independently as possible, at home and at work. The treatment plan is implemented by a multidisciplinary team of care providers. Depending on the plan, this team may include a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, dietician, psychologist and social worker.
With dedicated MS experience, we will teach you how to cope with your limitations in daily activities. Through advice and practice, we teach you how you can perform certain activities (if necessary, with medication, assistance, or adaptations) and how you can best distribute your energy. Specific attention is also paid to the people around you by explaining the disease and how to deal with it in the best possible way.
In the rehabilitation centre Medifit Reha we have developed a special programme for MS patients who have had stem cell therapy in for example Russia, Mexico or India. We have a great deal of experience and success with this programme for MS patients after stem cell therapy.
