How does rehabilitation abroad work?

More and more patients are giving up on the waiting lists and going abroad for treatment. Medical interventions in a foreign hospital or rehabilitation center are nowadays approved by the European Union. Rehabilitation center Medifit has set up a ‘Medical Tourism Program’ to make medical treatment possible for foreign patients.

You will receive a high intensity rehabilitation program (1 on 1). In addition, we provide a very personalized service. Your stay in our rehabilitation center, the professional assistance and the handling of the administrative area will all be carefully arranged with you, in your own language. You do not have to worry about anything else but your health.
So, how does the rehabilitation work at Medifit Rehabilitation center? It is all explained step by step below.

Diagnosis

If you have complaints and need rehabilitation, it is necessary that you first have an (online) intake with our rehabilitation doctor and casemanager. In this intake there will be evaluated if and how we can help you. Also we will evaluate which rehabilitation pathway is indicated for your diagnosis and whether it should be on an outpatient or inpatient basis.

Costs and benefits of rehabilitation in Spain

According to European regulations, all rehabilitation within the EU is reimbursed at the same rate as in your own country. Therefore, if you qualify for rehabilitation treatment in your own country, it is also possible for you to receive your treatment in Spain.

Care

We will assist you with the administration with your insurance company for a reimburses of the maximum amount possible. Of course, we also handle all further administrative and financial arrangements with you. Once in Spain, you can count on personal assistance from the moment you land until you leave. A transfer between the airport in Spain to the rehabilitation center Medifit is included with the clinical programs.

Your trip to Spain

You fly to Alicante or Valencia. Upon arrival you will be received at the airport by our staff and transported to the rehabilitation center. Rehabilitation centers Medifit is located approximately an hour away from the airports Alicante / Valencia. On the day of departure, we will transport you to the airport for your flight home.

You will be personally accompanied during your whole stay so you feel as comfortable as possible.

Recovery program in Spain

The rehabilitation always begins with investigations by our Medifit Team. After all the evaluations your casemanager will then discuss the treatment plan with you and the therapy team. You will then begin your rehabilitation. During the treatment process, the rehabilitation doctor and your casemanager will have regular evaluations with you to continuously adapt the program to your needs.
