Three years. That is how long Corentin lived with burnout before finding an approach that truly helped him move forward.
Like many people experiencing prolonged burnout, he had already tried different ways to recover. There were moments when he felt slightly better, but the progress never seemed to last. The exhaustion remained, his energy never fully returned, and he began to wonder whether he would ever feel like himself again.
Looking back, he now believes his biggest mistake was waiting so long to seek a different approach.
“I spent one month at Medifit and made incredible progress with my burnout. After three years of struggling, this has been the most helpful support I have received, and my only regret is not coming sooner.”
For Corentin, one of the biggest differences was discovering that burnout wasn’t only affecting his mind. It had also taken a significant toll on his body. Years of chronic stress had left him constantly tired, tense and unable to recover properly, even when he rested.
That understanding shaped his experience throughout Medifit’s intensive burnout recovery programme.
Rather than focusing on a single aspect of burnout, the programme combined psychological support, physical rehabilitation and medical expertise within a personalised treatment plan. Every day was adapted to how he felt, allowing the team to adjust the schedule whenever he needed more time to rest or when a different therapeutic approach was more appropriate.
As he explains:
“The program was very well structured, but also flexible and adapted to how I was feeling. When I was tired, they adjusted my schedule to give me more space to rest.”
The combination of therapies became one of the most valuable parts of his recovery. EMDR sessions and cognitive therapy helped him better understand and process the psychological impact of burnout, while manual therapy and physical rehabilitation addressed the physical consequences of prolonged stress.
“What made Medifit so powerful for me was the combination of mental and physical support.”
Corentin also appreciated Medifit’s evidence-based approach. Alongside clinical care, he experienced innovative tools such as vagus nerve stimulation and body scans. By tracking his progress with his Garmin smartwatch, he was able to see objective improvements that reinforced what he was already beginning to feel.
“Tracking the effects with my Garmin showed me how positively the program was impacting my body and nervous system.”
Beyond the therapies themselves, the environment also played an important role. Spending four weeks at Syncrosfera allowed him to step away from daily pressures and focus entirely on recovery. The access to the spa, together with a programme that balanced intensive treatment with flexibility, created the conditions he needed to begin restoring both his physical and mental wellbeing.
Just as importantly, the support did not end when the programme finished.
“The follow-up after the retreat has also been extremely helpful, and I have continued to make great progress since leaving.”
Today, Corentin describes his experience not simply as a successful treatment, but as a turning point after three years of struggling with burnout.
His story does not suggest that everyone will have the same experience, because every recovery journey is different. It does, however, highlight the value of a personalised, multidisciplinary approach that addresses both the body and the mind.
Perhaps the sentence that best captures his experience is also the simplest:
“My only regret is not coming sooner.”
